IMPHAL, December 31: LM Khaute, IPS has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) Manipur with the one month extension of superannuation period of DGP, Saheed Ahmed came to an end today.
According to an order of the Governor today issued late in the evening by Subash, Deputy Secretary (DP) Government of Manipur, LM Khaute a Manipur Tripura 1985 batch IPS officer who was holding the post of ADGP (LO) before, has been promoted as DGP.
Khoute now supersedes Malana Goud, the seniormost IPS officer after outgoing DGP Saheed Ahmed, IPS.
It may be recalled that Sahid Ahmad, IPS Tripura cadre 1997 took the charge of DGP Manipur from his predecessor M.K Das, on December 1, 2013. His service period expired on November 30.
However, the Superannuation period of the outgoing DGP, Sahid Ahmad, IPS was extended for another one month by an order of the Governor, issued by the deputy secretary-Department of Personnel (DP), Government of Manipur and reassume his post as DGP from December 1 till 31.
