Bishnupur, Jan 19: The Women Joint Action Committee Against the Brutal Beating of L (O) Sorojini Devi Bishnupur today staged a sit in demonstration in protest against BJP president Th Chaoba and his security escort for their alleged anti women act and attempted murder of a woman.
During the demonstration the protestors displayed banners and placards which read “Condemn anti women Angom Tombi’s family”, “Woman attacker Dipak, should be Punish”, “BJP Anti women” etc.
As a part of the protest a public convention was held wherein many protestors condemning the alleged assault on Sorojini by Angom Tombi and her family and gave their opinion on the matter.
The protestors vehemently denounced the act of BJP and its workers, for wrongly highlighted Govindas Konthoujam in the media.
As a mark of protest the protestors took out funeral procession along Nigthoukhong ITI road carrying the effigy of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Th Chaoba and set on fire.
Later, a rally was also taken out till the Ningthoukhong project gate.
