IMPHAL, February 15: Former judge of Jharkhand High Court Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad today was sworn in as 4th Judge of The High Court of Manipur at the High Court of Manipur auditorium at 11 am.
High Court of Manipur Chief Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra administered the oath to the newly appointed Judge.
The oath taking ceremony was also attended by Justice N Kotishwar Judge High Court of Manipur and Justice Kh Nobin Judge High Court of Manipur as presidium members. Session courts judges, NDPS and CJMs also attended the oath taking ceremony of Judge Rakesh Ranjan Prasad.
High Court Bar Association Manipur members and senior advocates, advocates of High Court of Manipur and other staff of High Court of Manipur also attended the oath taking ceremony
Mention may be made that as per the order passed by Joint Secretary Ministry of Law Department of Justice on February 1, the President of India after consulting with the Chief Justice of India issued an order to transfer Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad Judge of Jharkhand High Court as a Judge of High Court of Manipur and directed him to assume charge on or before February 15.
