IMPHAL, February 14: Manipur people should be wary at the way the BJP is working together with NPF who are against the territorial integrity of Manipur asked RK Anand, MLA Naoriya Pakhanglanka.

Addressing to a public gathering his residence at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai in the annual conference cum get together under the theme discuss on present issue and Kendra Development organised by the Naoria Pakhanglakpa Programme co-ordinating committee, he said the public should demand the answer to this question from the BJP.

No one can hurt the territorial integrity of Manipur so long as the Congress is here, he reiterated.

Several baseless allegations of corruption levelled at the Congress government by the NDA government with frequent visit of its functionaries to the NE states, particularly Manipur, are unfortunate, he said. No Congress minister visit Gujarat while Modi was chief minister, when the Congress too could have well done it, he added.

If the corruption charges levelled on us are found to be true, I will willingly resign from my MLA post, he challenged. He said the Congress is committed to making Manipur a corruption free State in future.

Anand further said that the Congress is still alive to save the motherland. We people of Manipur should be wary of the step of the present NDA government and its hidden agenda being played on the people of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

Amidst the critical political situation, it is very unfortunate that seasoned politicians like O Joy have joined the BJP. It is painful and shocking, he added. It is a surprise that a person who has always stood for Manipur and has been working for safeguard of Manipur territorial integrity, has now decided to follow the BJP.

Anand asked the people of Manipur to give their votes to political leaders who can stake their lives for safeguarding Manipur in the 2017 general election. All external hands in the administration of Manipur would be cut off, he promised.

Special guest at the function N Biren MLA Heingang said that Manipur needs true leaders to mitigate the present apprehension in state. It is very unfortunate that forces of segregation still are in play in the state.

He asked why Lu-Ngai-Ni has invited the neighboring state CM instead of state CM or Deputy CM. This is a huge threat to unity among communities and this was created by the past politician leaders, he charged.

Very recently Hills leader Phungzathang spoke the truth and reiterated that the three bills have no anti-tribal content in it and he has also claimed that no Meitiei has taken any reserved jobs of tribals. We appreciate such leadership quality, he said.

He said that if we had good leaders the problem arising between hills and valley might have been already solved. He claimed that hill areas have no democracy at present. No true leader can now be elected through democratic vote, for winning now depend on the whim of SoO groups, he said.

He said any person who stands against Manipur’s interest will be confronted even if he was my father. So we need more leaders like Phungzathang Tonsing he said. We should root out bias political leaders he said. If good leaders came as representatives from hills and valley, unity will result in a year, he assured.

He said we should respect the titular king Leismeba Sanajaoba because he is still working to bring unity among hills and valley even though he has no power in the democratically constituted government. We should encourage him and give him full dignity as king of Manipur because Manipur was created and guarded by our ancestral kings, he said.

Biren further gave assurance confidently that the next government in Manipur will be formed by the Congress.
