IMPHAL, Feb 25: The All Manipur Village Defence Force (VDF) Welfare Association has demanded the members of the State Legislative Assembly to discuss their demand for an increase in their honorarium by Rs 1000 during the ongoing Manipur Legislative Assembly budget session.
Speaking to media person, spokesperson of the association Shahid Nawaz Khan said the Chief Minister has already assured them to increase their honorarium in 2015.
He said however, despite the assurance, the government continue to neglect their demand.
He said on March 6, the VDF will celebrate its foundation day at the Bishnupur Chothe Reserve Line. He further appealed to all VDF personnel to attend the celebration to show unity. He also appealed to the department authorities to exempt the VDF personnel from duty on the said day.
