IMPHAL, March 4: The House passed three government bills today on the concluding day of the 13th session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.

The three government bills are The Manipur Municipal (tenth Amendment) Bill 2016, the Manipur Appropriation (No.2) Bills 2016 and The Manipur Appropriation (No.3) Bills 2016.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh also clarified on the demand for revenue district status of Jiribam while relying to a question raised by Dr I Ibohalbi on the issue.

The Chief Minister said the government acknowledges the genuine grievances of the people of Jiribam; however, there are certain legal angles which need to be considered and at the same time the government cannot consider the demand for Jiribam district alone as there are many more such demands.

It will take some more time and the people have to wait, he said and added, however, waiting doesn’t mean the people have to wait by imposing road blocks, bandhs and highway blockades.

On the issue of promotion in the Police department, the Chief Minister said there are certain problems in promotion not only in the police department, but in almost every department.

He said he will speak in this regard with the Deputy Chief Minister who is also the Home minister and look into the issue.

Regarding a question raised by MLA Joykishan regarding the muster role and work charge employees regularisation, the Chief Minister said the government is putting all efforts to solve the issue.

The Chief Minister also said the State government is trying hard to implement the online facility to lodge an FIR at the earliest as it will also help the people from the interior parts of the State.
