IMPHAL, March 4: The Direct Recruit District Rural Development Agency Employees Union has warned to launch strong agitations if the staffs of the District Rural Development Agency are not absorbed by the line departments before March 14.
This was stated by the union’s secretary.
He further appealed to the CSOs of both the hills and the valley to support their agitation.
He continued the DRDA has been working under the DCs of the districts for the people in the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes like the MGNREGA, IWMP, IAY, MSDP, MLA and MPLADF.
The secretary said according to the clause No 4.2 of the guidelines of the concerned ministry, any staff who has been a staff of the DRDA for more than three to five years should be absorbed by the line departments, he said observing that in other States, the governments have already absorbed their DRDA staffs.
He also added that the concerned ministry has also issued several written instructions to the State government to absorb the staffs, however, the State government continue to neglect it.
He added it has been more than 12/13 months since the DRDA staff received their salaries.
