IMPHAL, March 15: Nongmaithem Khomdonmacha who was arrested in connection with the Nongmainthem (o) Memicha case was produced before the court of the CJM Thoubal and sent to jail under judicial remand today.
It may be mentioned that Khomdonmacha was arrested by the police on March 11 as an accused in the suspicious death case of Memicha whose body was recovered from a paddy field at Khongjom Samaram Loukon under Thoubal district on March 2.
Meanwhile, a commotion erupted inside the court complex during the court proceeding today.
Even as a Thoubal Police team brought Khomdonmacha into the court complex, a huge mob of womenfolk from Memicha’s locality arrived and shouted slogans against releasing him, while another mob of womenfolk from Khomdonmacha’s locality shouted slogans demanding his release.
However, a police team led by additional SP N Modhunimai controlled the commotion.
