Tension erupts after housewife flees home

BISHNUPUR, March 30: In a dramatic incident, a newly married housewife who went missing since today morning was found later staying in one of her relative’s houses, igniting tension between two families.

The housewife is identified as Thounaojam ningol Takhellambam ongbi Anju alias Chaoba, 22 wife of Th Bijenkumar of Oinam Bazar in Bishnupur district.

According to reports, family members of Bijenkumar informed Anju’s family members about her missing after she failed to return back ever since she went out of the residence early morning. Out of suspicion, an enraged mob from the side of Anju who hails from Bishnupur Ward No 6 came to the husband’s residence to search her.

Fearing backlash, Bijenkumar’s family members took shelter at Nambol Police Station.

The mob stayed at the husband’s place from 9 am till 6 pm. On hearing the intense news, a team of police led by SDPO Bishnupur S Rameshwar, DSP (CDO) N John and OC Nambol Police Station O Iboton arrived at Oinam Bazar to thwart any untoward incident.

As stated by Anju’s mother Damenti, her daughter eloped with Bijenkumar on January 28 last and got tied the knot on January 30.

Claiming that her daughter was frequently ill-treated by Bijenkumar’s parents, she demanded her daughter to be produced safely.

She said that Anju’s father-in-law filed a missing report in Nambol PS.

The raging tension subsided after it came to known that Anju was staying in her relative’s house at Phubala.

It is said that the housewife was admitted to Bishnupur District Hospital after her condition deteriorated.
