IMPHAL, April 6: A blooming lotus in the 2017 State Assembly election will bring out Nambol constituency which has remained buried for the past 15 years, BJP Manipur president Th Chaoba said today.

He was speaking at the BJP 37th Foundation Day observation organised by the Nambol Mandal of the party at Nambol today.

The people have found BJP to be an alternative to the Congress misrule, he added.

In the context of Manipur, corruption has reached its highest level during the last 15 years rule of the Congress, he said.

How could the MLAs become millionaires overnight if they are not corrupt, he demanded.

He said it is unfortunate that the sitting Nambol MLA has alleged corruption charges against him.

Chaoba said when he became the general secretary of MPP in the 1970s, the present Nambol MLA must not have been even conceived.

He said it is unfortunate that the Nambol MLA has not only failed to bring any development in his constituency, but has also ruined the few facilities which were available in the constituency including a girls’ higher secondary school and the now defunct Royal Hospital.

MLAs are meant to voice their concern for the people inside the Assembly, he said charging that the Nambol MLA has never voiced a single utterance for the welfare of the people of Nambol during Assembly sessions.

Chaoba said the BJP Nambol Mandal is fully prepared to file a PIL against the MLA for misusing and misplacing the development funds in the last 15 years.

He said the full details have been collected through RTI Act.

The Congress wants corruption and the BJP is just the opposite, he claimed.

He claimed that once the BJP comes to power, the Congress MLAs will all land in jail.

He claimed that the recent drama demanding cabinet reshuffle in the Congress party seem to have died down, as the dissident MLAs have collected crores of rupees.

The BJP has no intention to disturb the Congress, because it is already waiting to break up, he said.

Chaoba also claimed that some BJP workers are working as puppets of the Congress and had claimed that April 4 was his farewell from BJP president post. Today the Manipur in charge of the party has instructed the workers to work under his guidance, he added.

The day was also observed at the residence of BJP aspiring candidate of Kshetrigao Indrajit.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Joykishan said the BJP is working for the poor and the women.

The BJP wants to usher peace and development in the State, he said.

He said they (BJP) are afraid of even sitting near Congress MLAs because they might be blamed for the breaking up of the Congress.

However, the BJP has no interest in the Congress, he said.

He said the Centre had earmarked Rs 1000 crore for the development of the NHs, which the government has already misused.

Meanwhile, the same function was also observed by the Yaishkul Mandal.

The function held at Bramapur Aribam Mandop Yaiskul was attended by in-charge Manipur Prahlad Singh Patel, MLA Thongju Th Bishwajit.

Speaking on the occasion Bishwajit said there is a lot difference between the Congress ideology and the BJP ideology.

The Congress instead of solving its own internal crisis is trying to blame the BJP for the differences among themselves, he added.

The Heingang Mandal also observed the 36th Foundation day of BJP at its Mandal Office at Kontha Khabam Maning Leikai with former DGP Y Joykumar attending as the chief guest.
