IMPHAL, Apr 7: Manipur Governor V Shanmuganathan on Thursday extended his greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba), the New Year day Meitei, which falls on April 8.
The Governor’s message said “Sajibu Cheiraoba” is the new year of the Meiteis of Manipur which is a traditional festival celebrated on the first day of Sajibu month every year.
It said the New Year always comes with full of hopes and promises for everyone.
“It holds the aspirations of the people and the curiosity of what lay beyond, it said.
