IMPHAL, Apr 17: A cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Mission was today conducted at Sangakpam Bazar and its surrounding areas under the initiative of the Heingang Police Station.
The drive was also participated by local MLA Nongthombam Biren.
The cleanliness drive was conducted under the officer-in-charge of Heingang Police Station Dr Mohit Garg.
Asserting that the garbage dump in the drains have clogged the drains, the MLA appealed to the people not to dump their garbage into the drains running along the IVRs.
IPS officer Dr Mohit who is on probation said the cleanliness drive is being conducted under the Swachh Bharat, Swachh Police Station Mission.
He said both the police station and the areas covered by the police station should be kept neat and clean.
