IMPHAL, April 11: “I am not involved in the race of party president, I am loyal to the party president,” BJP MLA Kh Joykishan said reacting to reports of his name being in the fray for the post of the BJP Manipur president.
Speaking to media persons at his residence this afternoon, he said the reports are unfortunate.
The report which claims that he was lobbying for the post in the national capital with party leaders is baseless and unfounded, he said.
Joykishan also expressed grief on the tense situation at Mayang Imphal which erupted today.
Claiming that the incident was a result of the State government’s negligence, Joykishan alleged that Home department had failed to take any precautionary measure.
The government had not taken the issue seriously, he claimed.
If the State government had taken immediate measures the unwanted tension could have been averted, he added.
He further appealed to the people to remain calm and not to create more tension.
