IMPHAL, April 6: The proscribed outfit UNLF has claimed in a press statement that the bomb attack at the residence of IMC chairperson Aribam Nimai Sharma at Brahmapur Aribam Leikai on April 5 was carried out by its armed wing MPA.
It further clarified that the two persons who were rounded up and thrashed by locals for involvement in the attack are not related to the outfit and its armed wing MPA in any manner.
It said the MPA special team which carried out the attack has reached a safe place after carrying out the attack.
It alleged that the IMC chairperson has siphoned off large amount of amount from his office during 2014-15 in the name of the outfit. The amount due to be accrued to the outfit is still is his hand, it said. Making it clear that the bomb attack was carried out as a last warning for duping the outfit, the statement asked the chairperson to approach the party before April 15 for his deed.
