IMPHAL, May 15: Former secretary (organisation) of Aam Admi Party (AAP) Hareshwar Goshwami has today joined the BJP along with 500 followers after getting the nod of approval from BJP state unit president K Bhabananda Singh.
Bhabananda stated that the entry of Hareshwar Goshwami and his followers had already been approved by the Yaiskul BJP Mandal in the hope of strengthening the party in the state. Consequently, their membership to the BJP Manipur Pradesh was confirmed today, he added.
Goshwami had joined politics in August 2011 soon after his retirement from state government service and fought the last Assembly election from Yaiskul constituency on an All India Trinamool Congress ticket. Later he joined AAP in 2013 and resigned as secretary (organization) of AAP in 2016.
