IMPHAL, May 4: The Khousabung Sub Divisional Demand Committee (KSDDC) refuting that they did not receive relief materials from the so called Relief Committee, questioned whether the latter was a committee form by the government or a political agent of the newly appointed PHED minister, T Manga Vaiphei.
KSDDC was reacting to news item appeared in various local dailies recently wherein the `Relief Committee claim to have distributed relief material to storm affected villagers of Khousabung area.
In a statement the KSDDC, alleged that the committee is a bogus one and unheard of, which going through by its tone and tenor is to serve the vested interests of MLA Henglep AC.
It contended that during the very unfortunate period of natural calamity within his constituency he (T. Manga Vaiphei) engaged himself in self gratification and exaltation of his Cabinet Minister-ship at Kangvai on April 30.
The KSDDC also wonder as to why the MLA (new Minister) is still not showing up personally to the calamity-affected victims of Saichang/Chongkhozou area at this time of misfortune and sorrow if he has real and genuine concern for the people of his constituency, it continued.
KSDDC also finds it distasteful that the Cabinet Minister through the so called Relief Committee is questioning the fact findings report of the Manipur Hills Journalist Union (MHJU) published in newspaper.
It maintained that the facts only indicates that the circle MLA & Minister has nothing to offer but is trying to hide his misdeeds by means of a proxy clarification in order to bask in his new found glory i.e. his newly gained Ministerial image, which is also fast losing its sheen.
The KSDDC would like to challenge the Minister to make it public and publish the Relief Materials/Assistances which ever provided to the affected people date-wise since the fateful morning of April 23.
At the same time, it also appealed to the minister not to resort to cheap politics and ensure that the needy people of his constituency in particular Saichang and Chongkhozou areas get their relief immediately for which he has been elected.
