IMPHAL, May 7: Manipur has full potential in skill development in various fields but it is facing marketing problems which the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is trying to sort out, said BJP leader Adhikarimayum Sarda Devi.
In an interaction with some of media person at her residencw at Bramhapur, National Vice-President of BJP Mahila Morcha incharge Delhi and Northeast region A Sarda said that in her recent visit to Nagpur and she met Anil Halsamudrakar Chairman of NSDC, Federation of Skill Development Organization.
In our state there are full of resource but still there is failure to tap its benefits whether in skill development or tourism or any fields related with skill development among 1500 skill types. She said that the main problem faced in skill development is marketing problem.
The union government has established a separate ministry for skill development and government is giving more focus to NE state in view of skill potential of NE people particularly Manipur. During the visit Sarda accompanied by outgoing president of BJP Mahila Morcha RK Pramodini and General Secretary L Boby Devi has discussed to solve the marketing problem.
Chairman Anil seriously noted and assured that the corporation will provide marketing place or ways for any skill development trade for Women and Youths of Manipur.
The Ministry is looking forward to those widows and aged women through self-help groups but this time self-help groups will translate the true meaning of self-help group.
The NSDC has asked to select 15 such students from Manipur 10 from hills area and 5 from valley areas. The main objective is to give free education with skill development programme in Pune and after completion of their course these children will explore NE states for giving training in various field of skill development.
