IMPHAL, Jun 2: The state cabinet today approved the establishment of Traffic Police Wing, to exclusively counter the ever-growing traffic volume in the State particularly in Imphal city.
The cabinet meeting was convened this afternoon around 3 pm.
Manipur government spokesperson Moirangthem Okendro said that after a deliberate discussion on the agenda the meet resolved to lighten the burden for traffic management from the Transport department permanently and handed it over to the Home department.
To immediately implement the decision, a Traffic Police Wing of the Home department will be established and traffic management will be deviced under the Manipur police department, he said.
