IMPHAL, Jun 1: The College Students’ Council Manipur (CSCM) has threatened to boycott the upcoming B.A, B.Sc and B.Com 4th Semester Examination conducted by Manipur University which has been tentatively scheduled to begin from June 4.

The council has also threatened to impose an indefinite close-down of all college administrative blocks from tomorrow demanding unconditional release of the two student leaders arrested by the police on May 26 during an agitation demanding implementation of the ILP.

The two student leaders are identified as general secretary Bruce Pebam and former general secretary Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School Loitongbam Bidya Laxmi were arrested by police on May 26 during Inner Line Permit System movement.

Speaking to media persons today inside the DM College campus, CSCM convenor Khaidem Dhanachandra said the council has appealed to the government for the unconditional release of the two student leaders on June 1 at 12 pm.

However, the government has failed to release them yet, he said.

Expressing unhappiness against the government failure, the council has warned to launch serious forms of agitation until their demand are met by the government, he said.
