IMPHAL, May 21: The Manipur State Legal Service Authority released two documentary short films based on crime against woman and child abuse at the Manipur Film Development Corporation Auditorium, Palace Gate today.

Executive chairman of MSLSA Justice T Nandakumar Singh in his introductory speech expressed the importance of woman power in a society.

He further expressed his hope that the two documentary films will contribute in the fight to eradicate domestic violence and child labour.

Chief Justice, Guahati High Court, Justice AK Goel expressed that the country has one of the lowest Human Development Index average in the world and added progress in food,  education and health sectors are main indicators of a country’s HDI.

He also added that it is the responsibility of the government to seriously consider crimes against women.

Supreme Court Judge, Justice DK Jain said that the two short films should be televised in Doordarshan and other television channels as the issues taken up by the two films concern the general public at large.

Gauhati High Court Justice N Koteshore was also present during the function.
