Three day workshop at RIMS

IMPHAL, January 31: A three day workshop on methodology & clinical epidemiology for NE region was inaugurated today in the Jubilee hall, said a press release of the RIMS.

Prof S. Sekharjit, Director of RIMS declared the workshop open and welcomed the resource persons and delegates from different institutes in the country.

The workshop is attended by six resource persons from AIIMS, Maulana Azad Medical College, Seva Gram Institute of Medical Sciences namely Pawan Sharma, Subodh Gupta, S. Ramji, Suresh Ughade, Manoj Das and Nalin Mehta, it said.

RIMS is the first centre in the NE region where this workshop is held. There is a plan to hold similar workshops in other NE states. The main objective of the workshop is to familiarize the research methodology among the post graduate, MD/MS students, it said. It is in fact an interactive program where the students could discuss various aspects from conceptulization to approaching the funding agency. Apart from the ten guides and 10 post graduate students from RIMS two delegates each from the departments are participating in the workshop, however due to the ongoing inspection by the Medical Council of India the representatives from Sikkim and Guwahati could not make it to the workshop, the release said.
