IMPHAL, June 26: Imphal West District Police Commando Unit has arrested one active member of KRA (U) from Paona bazar near Usha cinema hall, he has been identified as Gouthang Gangte, age 31, son of Songkhugin Gangte of Moreh Ward No.9, according to a press release. It said, when the case was followed up, two more cadres of KRA (U) have also been arrested, one from Tribal Market, New Lambulane and other from Minuthong area MMTA office and four mobile phones were seized from them, the arrested persons have been identified as Haominthang Kuki alias Jol, age 25, son of Lalseimlein Sitlhou of New Lambulane and Lanminlen Gangte alias Len, age 43, son of T. Gangte of Missionland, Sanjengthong. It said, according to an investigation, on June 20, Gouthang along with other associates of KRA (U) had kidnapped a non-Manipuri Broker named Sunil, who stays in a rented house at Major Khul, from BT Road Fly-over and demanded rupees one crore from MJP Enterprises, where Sunil works.
A case has been registered at City Police Station and investigation is going on.
