IMPHAL, February 27: After serving for a long time, a tribal Doctor working under Manipur Health Services is going to retire without getting the benefit of promotion due to the alleged negligence of Manipur Public Service Commission.

According to his colleagues, the said doctor has good service records and has to be promoted from MHS grade II to grade I during February 2015. He is going to retire on February 28, 2015.

At present there are 12 Doctor Grade I posts lying vacant in the department.

There are two members in MPSC (Commission). Out of these, the Chairman DV Singh got retirement on Jan 25 and so there is only one member LP Golmei who constitutes the commission at present.

As there is only one member in MPSC, almost all the DPC are kept in pending and the renowned doctor got victimised by being denied of his rightful benefit for serving under the State government.

There is an urgent need for the State government to look into the matter in the interest of the employees, an employee said.
