IMPHAL, April 25: PHAM defeated AMHA by 4-3 while KHSC defeated LCLYC by 14-1 in today’s matches of the 1st edition U-18 boy’s and girl’s state level hockey tournament at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
In the first ground match played between PHAM and AMHA, PHAM was able to convert 3 goals out of 4 penalty corners whereas AMHA was not able to convert any goals even after winning seven penalty corners. Th Anil scored the first goal in 7 minutes of the play from a penalty corner followed by L Rameshchandra in 26 and 62 minutes and Th Deepu in 68 minutes making a total of 4 goals for PHAM whereas for AMHA, M Brownson scored in 16 minutes and H Amatjit scored in 30 and 65 minutes time making a total of only 3 goals. Sanjoymani of AMHA was booked a Yellow card during the match.
In the second ground match played between KHSC and LCLYC, N Jin Jin (KHSC) became the highest scorer of the game after scoring four goals followed by M Dhananjoy with three goals and W Bipin scored the only goal of LCLYC.
YCLYL will be playing against LIZARD in tomorrow’s match.
