IMPHAL, June 19: The Health Women Society today observed its first foundation Day at Late Khumukcham (o) Leolee Community Hall, Thangmmeiband Thingel Maru today.
A legal awareness programme was also held during the observation.
In her keynote address Secretary Rita Devi said that the society was formed with the main objective of providing legal awareness to the general public as against taking law in their hands.
Urging the general public against the frequently reported mob violence against alleged perpetrators of crime in the state, she continued that the organization has been organizing several awareness campaigns in the locality in order to educate the general public to take the legal means or procedure to seek justice in any case.
She added that the society also helps victims of certain cases in seeking justice.
The observation was attended by Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan, Manipur State Legal Services Authority member secretary A Guneshwar Sharma, Civil Judge Senior Division (Manipur West) G Kabui, CJM Senapati RK Memcha Devi and CJM Chandel Kim Shoute and HWS President Maisnam Ibemhal Devi.
