As per the cabinet decision, DIG (Range I) Clay Khongsai, IPS and Chandel SP Elangbam Priyokumar, IPS will leave for Bangalore and Pune respectively tomorrow to liaise with the state governments there and to facilitate the stay of the Manipuris staying there.
Meanwhile, the Additional Secretary (Home) M Yaiskul, MCS and Deputy Secretary (Home) Ranjan Yumnam, MCS will be stationed at Guwahati to liaise with various Manipuri students arriving from different cities of the country.

The seven day festival is organized by the Bharat Sevak Samaj, Manipur Branch.
The inauguration of the festival was presided by Home Minister Gaikhangam as the chief guest who had to cut short his presence due to an cabinet meeting regarding the present situation of students and professionals from the NE region in Bangalore.
The festival organized to promote integration among the people of the state especially the youth through cultural exchange is participated by youths from Imphal East and West, Ukhrul, Senapati, Chandel and from Itanagar.
The festival is not only about the cultural participation from the youths but there are also various professionals who have been invited as resource persons for discourses and discussions with the youths.
Gaikhangam during his short stay expressed his thoughts on how integrity of the mind and the society is important to create integrity among the people of the nation.
He also expressed the utmost need for the youths to realize their own potentials and talents so that they will be able to pave their way towards building a career and a life for themselves.
Further elaborating on the importance of such festivals, he said such festivals create an opportunity for the youths to come together and share each other’s culture and creating a sense of unity among the people.
The inaugural function was also attended by BSS vice chairman, ex ZEO, national awardee, N Chaoba Singh, Manipur State Social Welfare Board Chairperson, RK Nayansana Devi, and Dept of Psychiatry, JNIMS, Asst Prof Dr K Shantibala Devi as president and guests of honour respectively.
In her speech, Dr K Shantibala Devi explained from the psychiatric point of view, the differences between adolescents and youths and how important the stage of adolescent is in order to mold the character of the person for the future.
N Chaoba Singh expressed how cultural exchange will bring forward the integration among the people.
He also expressed the need to promote scientific rational thinking among the people and especially the youth.
