IMPHAL, November 30: Unidentified persons placed a hand grenade infront of a hardware shop at Singjamei Chingamakha under Singjamei Police Station today.
According to the police, the shopkeeper of the hardware shop which sells cement and iron rod has been identified as Ningombam Suresh. He has been running the shop for the past only two months.
Police suspect the bomb was placed to threaten the shopkeeper in connection with a monetary demand by an underground organization.
Meanwhile, womenfolk of the area staged a sit-in-protest against the bomb thread at Model Club campus, Chingamakha.
