IMPHAL, Dec 18 (Newmai News Network) : “It is a right move to save the image of Manipur that the state opposition leader I Ibohalbi has announced to move a “censure motion” against Agriculture and Fishery minister Md Abdul Nasir during the upcoming state assembly session”, said Manipur People`s Party (MPP) advisor O Joy on Tuesday.
O Joy commented this to a section of media at the office of the Manipur People’s Party here.
He said the censure motion is a general motion to be moved against ministers and MLAs under Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business and therefore, the move of I Ibohalbi is absolutely right.
Sports-persons like MC Mary Kom and A Boby have brought laurels to Manipur but a minister like Nasir had sold off the prestige of the state to the world by engaging in a physical fight with a Congress member inside the venue of the recently ended Sangai festival 2012, Joy said.
The state Government has maintained a complete silence on the matter, Joy accused and said that it would be the wisdom of the House whether it wants to defend Nasir when the opposition leader raise the censure motion against him during the winter session of the state assembly.
