JIRIBAM, May 3: Civil Societies and the general public of Jiribam held a meeting today at the Gularthol Community Hall regarding the bandh imposed along the Imphal Jiribam highway.
During the meeting it was resolved to call off the ongoing bandh along the highway while appealing to all not to impose bandh, blockades unnecessarily along the highways which acts as the lifelines of the state.
The meeting further condemned the silence maintained by the state government whenever a bandh or general strike is called along the highways. Meanwhile, the meeting also resolved that the people of Jiribam will impose counter blockades along the highway whenever an unnecessary bandh or blockade is called along the highways.
