Teachers conduct social service at Jiribam

    JIRIBAM, June 2: A social service was organized today starting from 8 am by the residents of the Jiribam teachers’ colony at the gateway of the super market near the teacher colony.

    Several individuals who are posted in the locality and staying at the teachers’ quarter voluntarily took part in the social service.

    The participants also made a general appeal to the illegal vendors which are doing business near the entrance of the teachers’ colony setting a deadline of June 10 for them to remove their makeshift stalls, to which the vendors have agreed.

    It was also resolved that the area used by the vendors to throw their garbage will be fenced.

    It is also learnt that necessary information regarding the removal of the stalls have been provided to the Addl SP of Jiribam O Menjor Singh which has been verbally acknowledged by the police officer.

    In this regard, today’s social service team from the teachers’ colony further appealed to the Jiribam Municipal Council for an effective solid waste management in the area.
