IMPHAL, Nov 20: The Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has announced a 24 hour general strike starting from midnight of November 21-22 as the first step of its “People’s Resistance” for the “Indigenous Land and People”.
A press statement of the outfit has said that the outfit is all set for the general strike and further appealed the general population to be alert saying that security forces might detonate powerful blast during the general strike.
The statement said that the movement has been launched against the act of ceding away land of Manipur to Myanmar against the wishes of the people of Manipur.
