IMPHAL, Jan 28: Irom Sharmila Chanu is unlikely to make her appearance at the Patiala Court on January 30 despite the court summon. According to reliable sources, the state home department has failed to release the amount to be used in travelling for Sharmila and her medical and security teams.
It may be mentioned that the Delhi Parliament street police station had registered an FIR for in connection with her hunger strike for removal of AFSPA at Jantar Mantar in the year 2006. The case registered against her by Delhi police is 222/06 under section 309 of the Indian Penal Code.
It may be mentioned that Sharmila is to make her next fortnightly appearance on February 1 at Lamphel court complex.
