IMPHAL, April 15: The Office of the District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East District, Manipur, said in a press release that any person giving or accepting bribe or threatens any candidate or elector or any person during election process is punishable with imprisonment up to one year or with fine or with both. Flying Squads are formed to register cases against those who are engaged in threats or briberies. Furthermore, the DC also stated that all Citizens are requested to refrain from such acts and to inform on the toll free number 0385-2445356, Complaint Monitoring Cell of the District set up for receiving the complains.
