THOUBAL, April 9: Election process in the seven segments of Thoubal district ended fairly peaceful today except for a few minor disturbances.
Seven segments of the district, Heirok, Wangjing-Tentha, Khangabok, Kakching, Wabagai, Hiyanglam and Sugnu went to voting today for the Manipur no II Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency.
Around 40 percent of voters came out to exercise their franchise before noon.
State chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh along with family members including his mother cast their votes at 35/39 Athokpam Makha leikai primary School, while, Education minister M Okendro cast his vote at 33/36 Heirok Part 2 Mayai Leikai Primary School.
