IMPHAL, Nov 8: The 44-Yaithibi Loukon Land Owners’ Association, president Md Alimmuddin today charged the Kakching Police, OC Rishikesh Sharma and his personnel of trespassing inside the Masajid-E-Mohammadia and firing guns.
Speaking to media persons at the Manipur Press Club, he said during the 48-hour bandh called along the Imphal-Moreh stretch of the NH 2, the police team had barged into and ransacked the masjid.
He demanded the authorities concerned to look into the matter and punish the police officer and his personnel.
Condemning the incident as barbaric, he said the villagers of Sora demand the government to change its decision to construct the sports university at Yaithibi Loukon.
