IMPHAL, January 7: The government has not reached the epicentre of the earthquake affected Kabui Khullen Part 1, under Tamenglong district till January 6, alleged scholar and activist Malem Ningthouja who had reached the village since the 4 of January along with five others.

The Chairman of the village, Athon confirmed over the phone to IFP that the Government Team came to Kabui Khullen Part – 1 village only today and stayed briefly for less than three hours. According to Athon, The village with 55 households are camping together in the community hall, and youth since 43 houses were affected by the recent earthquake. Several people were injured and among them four people were seriously injured and bed ridden but medical assistance came only today on the fourth day, he lamented.
The Tamenglong Block SDO concerned along with the SDC came with 20 half bags of rice and some other items like dal, salt, oil etc today. Our CMO also arrived with a medical team and treated the affected people today, Athon informed.He also added with concern, so far none of the visiting officials has assured us any immediate assistance to rebuild our houses or relocate to a safer place. Meanwhile the crack across the village is increasing every day and the river water level is increasing by 3 inches daily, he said.
