Missing boy fished out from CM’s pond

IMPHAL, January 12: The body of 19 year old Hoirongbam Sudesh, son of Sobha Athokpam Awang Leikai, who had gone missing after a Maruti 800 car he was travelling in accidentally plunged into a pond situated inside the premises of Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh’s residence at Thoubal Athokpam Leikai, has been fished out today.

The body was fished out from the Chief Minister’s pond this afternoon around 12.15 by a group of local divers.

It may be recalled that the car the deceased and friends were travelling in plunged into the pond last night around 8 pm.

While other occupants of the car escaped unharmed, Sudesh had remained traceless since the car plunged into the pond.

The survivors of the accident have been identified as Suresh Kumar, 24, son of Haridas, Thongam Bikanta, 20, son of Ojitkumar and Leitanthem Suraj, 17, son of Iboyai, hailing from Athokpam Awang Leikai.

With the effort of fire service and local divers, to trace Sudesh’s body failed last night the search continued today. It is learnt that Khangabok MLA O Landhoni, was also present during today’s search.
