IMPHAL, Jan 10: The body of a male suspected to be a hit and run road mishap victim near MS Hotel along National Highway-2 around half kilometer north of Sekmai Police Station, was found this morning around 6.30.
The deceased has been identified as Nongmaithem Somojao Singh, 25 son of N Kumar Singh of Sekmai Awang Leikai.
As the scooter he was driving was found damaged at the time of the recovery of the body, it is speculated that he might have been hit by a speeding vehicle yesterday night.
The lifeless body has been handed over to the deceased’s family after conducting post mortem examination at RIMS morgue.
On the other hand, another dead body of a male was recovered from Makhan village under Sekmai Police Station this morning around 6.
He has been identified as Gopal Sil, 50 son of Motilal of Makhan village.
Cause of the death could not be ascertained, however, it is learnt that the body is being kept at RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
