UKLF ridicules allegations

IMPHAL, January 20: The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has strongly refuted the allegation levelled against the outfit by Aimol Numei Waar, and urged fellow tribal groups to be on guard ensuring that the Aimols keep its internal issue within themselves as to avoid any unwanted incident.

A statement issued by the MP Haokip, secretary information and publicity of the outfit, said that the people of Aimol area has once again falsely implicated UKLF in their internal imbroglio.

S Chongkipning’s, allegation that the Assam Rifles has killed innocent villagers under the instigation was not only misleading but ridiculous, it said.

“Who are we to instigate/order security forces particularly Assam Rifles to kill civilians?” it questioned.

It said that with the guiding principle of re-unification and peaceful coexistence, the outfit always has been dealing the Aimols with love and respect giving due cognizance to their existence as a unique minority tribe.

However, in contrary to the efforts the Aimols has once again implicated UKLF in their every internal affairs with the intention of maligning the outfit’s image, it alleged.

Reacting on the alleged abduction and life attempt on villagers of Aimol tribes recently, it asked the tribe leaders to cross examine the true identity of the perpetrator before blindly pointing accusation fingers at the outfit.

It claimed that as a SoO signatory group its cadres are confined in the designated camp with full adherence to the ground rules.

It is the Aimol tribe who are upto sinister design, alleged the outfit adding that the armed men deployed by Aimol villagesr round the clock at the Aimol Satu village, have been harassing passerby and extort money from vehicles.

Referring to the alleged harassment, it urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and resolve it in public interest.
