‘Unauthentic, immoral leaders create instability in village’

KANGPOKPI, January 9: An authentic and decent leader makes the society and village prosper and secure while unauthentic and immoral leaders lead to instability, said Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Economics & Statistics Minister Francis Ngajokpa.

The Minister was speaking as chief guest at the Silver Jubilee celebration of Taphou Kuki War Sports in memory of Late Paojahao Chongloi and felicitation of trophies at Late Paojahao Chongloi Playground, Taphou Kuki village today.

Lauding the leadership of Lenkhomang Chongloi, ex-MDC of ADC Sadar Hills, who is also the chief of Taphou Kuki village, Francis Ngajokpa noted that the unity, love and decorum of the villagers indicate the premium leadership quality and faithfulness of the chief.

“Too many leaders who breed out of jealousy and are in opposition against the genuine leadership shaped the disunity of a village and odium environment”, asserted the Minister, adding that such leaders become the crumbliness of a village and bring disunity among the people.

Urging the people of Taphou Kuki village to sustain unanimity of the village through faith and sincerity towards their leaders, the Minister acknowledged loyalty and hospitality of the villagers. He assured to construct one podium like structure near the Silver Jubilee monolith which he unveiled today during the occasion.

The monolith was dedicated by Pastor Thangminson Haokip.

It may be mentioned that Taphou Kuki is the first village which celebrated Inter Ward Sports Silver Jubilee besides producing many individuals who bagged champion trophies in the field of games and sports.

The champions were also felicitated during the function wherein ‘Salu Lap’, a polular Thadou Kuki cultural dance was presented by Thadou Youth Club.

A jubilee feast marked the occasion which was also attended by Chairman of ADC Sadar Hills, Haokholal Hangshing as guest of honor.
