IMPHAL, March 11: The imbroglio within the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) over tussle of power apparently has subsided with the AICC leaders assuring a significant change in the Ibobi led Ministry and the MPCC organisational set-up.
A dissident MLA currently camping in the national capital talking to IFP informed that the dissident group met with the AICC chief, Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi at 1:15 this afternoon. The meeting lasted for over half an hour, he informed.
The MLA confided that acknowledging the complaint of the dissident group, the AICC leaders gave concrete assurance to bring a new structure within the MPCC and the Ministry in favour and satisfaction of the dissident group.
It is further informed that the floating of the new political party or forming alliance with other parties as indicated earlier, would be decided based on whether the changes assured will be acted upon.
Meanwhile, four of the dissident MLAs will return to Imphal tomorrow, informed a source.
