IMPHAL, Mar 11: The Maring Uparup Assembly (MUA), Machi Block Chairman Association and Maring Students Union (MSU) have vehemently condemned the brutal attack on 10 labourers engaged in the construction of Mini Dam at Heirok River near Heirok part-2 Chingol Melei Lampak/Sarku chang within Khulsaibung village Chandel district by unknown armed miscreants on March 10.
A joint statement issued by MUA president Modum Charang, MSU president Modar Charang and Machi Block Chairmen Association president L Angcha has appealed to the concerned organisation/individuals to refrain from committing such act in the future.
The statement said that the incident has nothing to do with Khulsaibung villagers or Maring people and is condemnable.
They further appealed to other communities not to create hatred among the communities because of the said lamentable incident.
The organisations also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Heirok villagers for not harming the Maring villagers/ people who were stopped by them in the aftermath of the incident.
