IMPHAL, April 2: The dissident MLAs of the Congress who have been demanding a cabinet reshuffle and removing a post from deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who was also the MPCC president under the ‘one man one post’ principle have assured full support to any step taken up by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, informed reliable sources.
The MLAs had given their assurance during a meeting with the CM at his office today at 4pm, sources said.
According to the sources, now that the dissident MLAs have been granted their demand of one man one post, they want the CM to meet their other demand soon.
It is learnt that they have reassured the CM not to be disturbed by the threats of the ministers to resign if there was any reshuffle.
Pointing out that even if the 10 ministers resign, there are still 48 party MLAs, the dissident MLAs assured their full support to the CM, the sources informed.
Meanwhile, it is also learnt that newly appointed president TN Haokip failed to turn up at his own felicitation arranged by the dissident MLAs at the quarter of one of their leaders Lamlai MLA Ksh Biren Singh.
