IMPHAL, April 5: Locals of Brahmapur Aribam Leikai today staged a sit in protest at the Youth Club Brahmapur against the bomb attack at the residence of IMC chairperson A Nimai Sharma last night.
The sit in protest was participated by women folks of the locality and its surrounding areas. Local business establishments also remained closed for the day in support of the protest.
Nimai’s wife A Biroja Devi who was present in the sit in protest said that attack is unfortunate and deplorable.
She further appealed to all concerned not to repeat such inhuman act in the future.
A meira paibi member A Bala Devi denounced the lobbing of bomb at a residential area and added that the two accused caught by the locals even threatened the locals with dire consequence.
It may be mentioned a gun licence in his name and a Id card of Royal Riders Manipur were recovered from one of the two nabbed by the locals.
