Division Bench of Justice N Kotiswar and Justice Kh Nobin will continue the hearing of the criminal petition case filed by former JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan on August 5.
This was declared at another hearing of the case held at Court room No 4 of the High Court of Manipur today.
The Division Bench had ruled that the case filed against declaration of wanted tag against Ratan was ‘maintainable’ on July 29 last.
A large number of JAC members, JCILPS Women Wing members and Ratan’s wife were present at today’s hearing.
Police personnel of Imphal west district including women personnel were also seen present at the Court complex.
The respondents of the petition are Additional Chief Secretary (Home), DGP Manipur, Imphal West SP, Manipur Police PRO and Singjamei police station OC.
Manipur police announced Ratan as a wanted man through a statement issued by its PRO on June 2 night. The statement said that a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh would be given to the individual who provides information about Ratan’s whereabouts.
The wanted tag was announced after a photograph showing Ratan along with three others receiving oath from UNLF leader Nongyai holding a flag of the banned outfit went viral on the social media.
However, Ratan in a press conference held at JCILPS office had claimed that the photograph was morphed and the Government was trying to suppress the pro-ILPS agitation.
