IMPHAL, April 5: A hunter died after he was hit by a stray bullet of from his colleague in an accidental firing incident at the upper part of the Singda dam under Gamnom, Sapermeina Police station today at around 4.30 pm.
The incident happened when the victim, identified as Ningthoujam Kheijao (55) of Kadangban part 1 along with four of his other colleagues went out for round of hunting in the area.
He was rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment where he was declared brought dead by the doctors at the hospital at around 5.50 pm.
The body has been handed over to the RIMS morgue for the post mortem.
