DIMAPUR, June 27 (NNN): Factional fightings have reared its head in Dimapur with one `officer` of NSCN-Khole/Kitovi being shot at and injured critically by the rival NSCN-K.
According to an intelligence source, a `treasury officer` of the NSCN-Khole/Kitovi identified as one Vihoto along with his body guards were repairing a vehicle in a motor-workshop at 4Th Mile (Char Mile) in Dimapur this morning when cadres from the NSCN-K came and started firing at the rival cadres.
Few days ago, Nagaland`s Zunheboto district and the state capital Kohima had experienced the factional clashes of the two NSCN groups.
Meanwhile, the Naga Students Federation (NSF) is all set to organise a massive rally in Kohima on Friday against the factional clashes which will be followed by a total bandh in `all the Naga inhabited areas` on July 1.
A functionary of NSF was injured in the Kohima clash.
Meanwhile, the Naga Hoho has asked the law enforcing agencies to flush out all the armed cadres from populated areas from Nagaland, so as to ensure security to the public.
Since the year 2008, factional clashes have stopped, laregly with the efforts of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR). Formed in 2008 to reconcile among the warring Naga underground outfits, the FNR members drawn from various Naga civil bodies, activists and intellectuals had organised football matches for these various Naga underground outfits both in Nagaland and abroad. Several reconciliation meetings were also convened under the aegis of FNR in Nagaland, Thailand and elsewhere. Following these, the warring Naga underground organisations had ceased to fight among themselves both physically and in the media.
