IMPHAL, April 25: As a part of its ongoing agitation, the All Manipur VDF Welfare Association today convened a meeting at the Nambol bazaar community hall.
A statement issued by Ramesh, publicity secretary of the association, divulged that VDF personnel from entire districts along with family members took part in the meeting.
It said that the meeting was presided over by representatives of the Central Committee of CITUC along with State convenor Ksh Shanta and guardian association`™s advisor Dr Oinam Chaoba Meitei.
Having deliberated on the report that the State government is taking some initiative with regards to the charter of demands of the VDF the meeting decided to convene another round of sitting comprising of the central committee and VDF personnel on April 27 to discuss on their further course of action, it said.
It informed that the VDF will continue with its agitation `abandoning their post`.
Urging those VDF personnel who are still attending their duty to immediately refrain from doing so, it warned that the association will not be responsible for any unwanted outcome.
